Behind a Japanese handmade forged knife, there are so many process, histories and our culture through hundreds of years.
At this point, let's focus on two main process, Forging Process and Sharpenind Process.
A blacksmith combines Hagane (high carbon steel) and Jigane (soft iron) together and shapes it to a certain type of a knife such as Yanagi and Deba.
A craftsman such as Hide-san, and Shin-san sharpens a combined metal from a blacksmith using polishing wheels for rough sharpening and fine grid sharpening stones for finishing.
